As the sphere turns

It is always good to see that the blogosphere is still spinning after a few days lock onto terra firma. I am just getting plugged back in but I noticed this last night in the dead tree form. Everybody loves a conspiracy theory and one entitled "The secret plot to destroy the Liberals"is sure to get the politicosphere going.

If Pat Martin is blathering about it to reporters, and using his name when doing so, it’s hardly a secret.

Dr. Strangelove:

Doomsday bombs shouldn’t be kept secret.

But I have serious doubts about the NDP’s ability to swallow or displace the liberals. Not without a serious makeover anyway - which I believe they’re incapable.

If the left wants to eat their own it will only benefit the CPC. I am reminded of a Dennis Mills comment on CFRB in Toronto a couple of years ago regarding federal assistance to develop the Toronto waterfront - the substance of which was that there was no way the federal liberals could trust the socialists in Toronto with federal transfers. Mills used very forceful and acrimonious language to describe them.

There’s a lot of liberals like Mills who simply could not tolerate a leftist union. There are lots of blue-liberal voters who wouldn’t consider it for a moment.
