let me ask when the Josh Towers death watch begins. The Blue Jays will only be competitive in they can roll through five quality starters. Up until this point they are .500 with 2.5. Skipping a Halladay start (already) has me worried and I would like to see another quality start from Ted Lilly before I am convinced he is back. Scott Downs has been weighed and measured and found wanting. He was a stop-gap until A.J. Burnett came back so I can live with that. What I can't live with is watching Josh Towers consistently getting lit up. The guy has nothing this year. He can't throw his 88 mph fastball past anybody and he has not been hitting his spots - well unless it the 500 foot homerun spot.
Methinks that Dustin McGown will get another look pretty soon.

Downs is really a long relief guy. He could probably start against KC or FLA, but not against Boston.
Towers is either very good - when he can locate his pitches - or very bad. This season, he has been very bad.
I have mentioned before that the Jays have a pitching problem. However, the bullpen appears to have gotten back on track.
