talk about polls you have to talk about SES Research polls because Mr. Nanos has proven that he is on it. Here is the latest SES Research National Survey.
Conservatives 38%
Liberals 28%
NDP 19%
Bloc Quebecois 9%
Which means the Conservatives are up 2-points, the Liberals down 2-points, the NDP up 1.5-points and the BQ down 1.5-points
since the January election. I'm no expert (but I play one on my blog) but that is pretty close to nothing has changed.
When you look at the regional breakdowns you can see that the "McGuinty snub" was indeed a false story as the Conservatives are pretty much the same in Ontario (up 1 point) and the Liberals have not gained from "Ontario alienation" (down 6-points).
In Quebec it is dead-heat between the Conservatives and Bloc Quebecois (35-37) which means that the Conservatives must be down slightly in "the West", "the East" or both.

It wasn’t a false story, it just hasn’t moved public opinion yet.

When the Liberal were in power they snubbed Mike Harris all the time and it didn’t change public opinion. And this was at the prime of the Harris Governments popularity.

Without seeing provincial breakdowns it’s hard to say.
I wouldn’t be too confident that the local NDP gov’t here in Sask is representative of the situation. There are a lot of unhappy people here with regards to the NDP.
It’s feeling reminiscent of Blakney’s last days actually.
Cheers, lance
