Thankfully there was no violence during the election in the Democratic Republic of Congo and their name might finally match their state. I have been especially harsh on the UN of late but it looks like the 17,000 troops in the D.R. of Congo helped.
I hope that these elections were fair and that people elect someone who will improve conditions.
Update: Former PM Joe Clark helped oversee the election and he was interviewed on Canada AM.

i agree the comment is a tad harsh but dang it’s difficult to compliment joe, the mere mention of his name and i want to laugh my ass off.
