A quick poll

before I head off to the SFX Toronto. This is from SES Research. The questions were open-ended so no prompt was given.

It only goes to show you: it’s competence that counts for the swinging block of Canadian voters. The message is, “Do a good job (so we can safely ignore you) and we’ll let you do whatever you want.”

That’s what the Tories capitalized on when they won their minority: they convinced enough Canadians that the Liberals weren’t doing a good job.

To build to a majority, they should ignore the “don’t act like Joe Clark” advice and simply govern well.

The only danger the Tories need to avoid is plain idiocy. Even the Liberals were able to do that for a few years.
