oops, I mean PM Blair. I wonder if it will work out as well for Labour as it did for the Liberals.
Update: It appears this date is unoffical and 1 MP and 5 government officials have resigned to pressure PM Blair to make a firm date. What is this obession with "exit strategies" anyway?

Labour is done. The Conservatives will win the next election. That will be very slightly better domestically for poor, sad demented old Great Britain, and probably not as bad for the alliance with the U.S. as many people think.

It’s sad what a knee-jerk desire for change does to successful politicians like Blair, Thatcher, and even Chretien at the end of their political careers. The good ones are so hard to replace, yet the desire to keep replacing them never seems to die. Funny how people are sometimes. Winston Churchill, too. The guy that saved the world from Hitler was thrown out on his butt not long thereafter, and more than once. Strange.

Spot on Occam. 8 Junior ministers/PPS’S resigned today. The government, at the lower level, is unravelling.
People overseas only hear of Blair in Foreign Policy terms. They are completely unaware as to how Blair is systematically destoying the United Kingdom, particularly local government. Whether this is deliberate I don’t know. There is a school of thought that believes that his totally unaware of what is going on, because he is so stupid.
The man’s vanity is appalling. He is planning a legacy tour around the country, would you believe, before he steps down, to celebrate his achievements. The man’s destroying my country. He is taking away or letting his acolytes take away our freedom. Enough of the rant.
Let’s sit back and enjoy this charlatan get his come uppance. He is an absolute imposter and must go now for the sake of the United Kingdom.

Another thing. Many people say they admire Blair for supporting George Bush and compare the relationship to that of Thatcher and Reagan. They were equals. Blair is totally subservient to Bush.
The UK is one of the world centres for Fundalmentalist Islamic terrorism. Much of it is home grown, but the UK immigration policy, thank’s to Blair’s Government, is in total disarray. Radical clerics have been able to come this country as they please.
The point is that Blair is incapable of doing joined up thinking. He is incompetent and is at the mercy of polically correct elements within his government. For that reason he is dangerous.
Also, if Blair goes, thinks will not improve. It needs a change of goverment and though the Conservatives do not inspire a great deal of confidence, they will at least be an improvement.
If only we had Stephen Harper in the UK.
