Although not as bad as in the US the Swedish exit polls look to have overstated things. Early (actual) numbers have the centre-rights leading the left-wing by a projected 176 seats to 173.

This doesn’t look like an overwhelming rejection of the welfare state to me. Of course, i am on the other side. ;)
