Review: No Umbrella: Election Day In The City

This 26 minute documentary tells the 2004 election day story of a polling station in a poor Ohio area. Apparently this is a story that just must be told because not only was there a documentary film crew onsite to record the incompetence of those in charge of the polling station but there was a plethora of news cameras there as well. Amazing that such election day chaos can be accompanied by such organized documentation. Of course this is all supposed to prove that the was institution corruption, nay a conspiracy, to deprive the Democrats from the White House. Here is my bias, if I have to choose between conspiracy and incompetence I will choose incompetence every time.
Now if your idea of viewing enjoyment is to watch a councilwoman whine and brow beat her way around a pilling station then fill your boots – you’ll love this short as much as the folks at the Sundance Festival did. But for those of you on the American left who are in the real world let me provide some Canadian advice. No one did whining over the last decade (and a half) like the Canadian right and instead of getting their act together and providing an electable platform and party they lashed out at the voter and the media. The Canadian electorate did not trust them until they got their internal house in order. So Democrats you can continue on the path your are on and confirm the definition of insanity (doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results), hope to get back into power by default but with no mandate or provide the voter with something to vote for instead of against.
In the meantime keeping making bad documentaries like this one because it is working out so well.

Greg:

We use good old paper ballots too. Don’t “improve” a good thing. God I sound like a conservative. I have to go lie down.

Chester:

Chester likes the new diggs.

Carbuncle also likes new joint. Keep it.
