Why stop there?

Here is a snippet of Jason Cherniak's post on Garth Turner going Liberal.

...Please note that this would make three former Tory leadership candidates in the Liberal caucus!

As he points out Garth Turner joins Belinda Stronach and Scott Brison as former Conservatives and/or Progressive Conservatives who have gone to the Liberals. But wait, there is more. There is Joe Clark campaigning for Paul Martin. There is David Orchard campaigning for Stephane Dion. There is Sinclair Stevens campaigning for Paul Martin. Let break them out into a list (and feel free to play along)

Garth Turner
Belinda Stronach
Scott Brison
Joe Clark
David Orchard
Sinclair Stevens

At this piont it is just too easy...so much jokes, so little time. Maybe they can swing Kim Campbell as well and form a Bad Political Judgment Hall of Fame.

Greg:

Looks like a list of purged Red Tories. Does this indicate who is and isn’t welcome in the new CPC?

nomdenet:

Millionaire/Red Tory/ Investment Planner/ Garth

How many oxymorons is that?

He got dumped not for being Red (he’s a chameleon) but because he was putting caucus info on his Blog. Presumably Dion has either ok’d that freedom to leak info out of the Liberal caucus or Garth has promised not to do it any more.

Either way, it will be interesting to see who makes the first move to break the deal.

Add Keith Martin to the list.

In the wild, the sick and weakly get thinned from the herd so that it is stronger as a result.

In politics, the same holds true. I don’t think there are many intelligent conservatives out there today who would disagree that losing faux-tory dead weight is a bad thing. Just check out that list…

Greg:

I want you to shout it from the rooftops Griff!

Dr. Strangelove:

Greg Staples, I’m confused. The link doesn’t point to anything Cherniak has written. In fact it’s been at least 24 hours since Garth’s humongous news and Cherniak has been mysteriously non-verbose on the subject.

My good Dr., the link is correct, get past where he talks about James Bowie and you can see the quote.

Dr. Strangelove:

That’s it? Two measily paragraphs!! This does not qualify as a post for Jason. It’s more like a resignation.

The lad has obvioulsy been rendered imobile by the straightjacket he’s assembled himself into what with all of his past moralizing and philosophizing on the subject floor-crossing.

I guarantee you I’m not the only one waiting rather impatiently to see how he’s gonna try and talk his ass out of this one.

One commentator even jokingly gave him advice as to how he can do the proverbial “advance to the rear.”

It’s funny because it’s true.

Add Joe Peschisolido!
