It seems another one is being test-driven.
...On Monday, Conservative MP Pierre Poilievre referred to Liberal leader Stephane Dion as Dr. Dolittle. He called it an "appropriate and good-humoured way" to describe the Liberal leader.
"I thought it was appropriate because of Mr. Dion's failure to get the job done," he said, suggesting Mr. Dion has a lot in common with the movie character Dr. Dolittle, who talks to animals.
"Stephane Dion converses with his dog, Kyoto, to get advice on all policy issues, but in the end he can't get the job done."
I am with Romeo St. Martin,
..."I haven't heard Dion called Dr. Dolittle in the blogosphere or on the Hill," he said, "though I've heard him called Citizen Dion in the blogs in reference to his French citizenship."
Which I think is a terrible nickname, which should reflect a humourous aspect of an individual not take a shot at entire group of people.

“Flipper” by Don Martin is just as good, but the broader media seems to have settled on Dr. Dolittle. As usual, we should support (cough, cough) the MSM in its endeavours. Doesn’t mean we can’t use flipper once in a while.
I don’t know where Romeo has been blogging. Not once have I come across the “Citizen” moniker.

I come across citoyen Dion often enough (i.e. too often for my liking)

I have capitulated to the wishes of the MSM.

Is calling Paul Martin “Mr. Dithers” an attack on all dithering people? Come on.
The “Citoyen” moniker clearly mocks Dion’s decision to remain a citizen of a foreign country. I hardly see how it somehow attacks all Frenchmen.
btw, how Dion handled that should have provided a clue of what was to come. And I’ve been saying it ever since.
Glad to see the media has finally followed suit, even though they, too, can be brutal once they turn on someone.

On behalf of all ditherers everywhere, I am personally insulted every time Mr. Dithers is referred to as Mr. Dithers.
I’m planning to sue, as soon as I can decide on who to sue. I’m almost ready though, as soon as I can decide. When I decide, and it could be today, maybe, I’ll let people know. If I decide to, that is.
