to beat you over the head with...
Don Martin outlines the strange activities going on within Liberal ranks as former Environment Ministers and insiders confirm the Iggyism, "We didn't get it done".
...The rewriting of the record started a few weeks ago when Eddie Goldenberg, the once all-powerful top advisor to former prime minister Jean Chretien, revealed the Chretien administration was not prepared to deal with the Kyoto challenge and had no plan to kickstart the process.
...Next up to whack the Liberal record was Christine Stewart, the Liberal environment minister who inherited the Kyoto accord when it was signed in 1997.
Discovered skiing with her granddaughter by the Northumberland Today newspaper this week, Ms. Stewart blasted the finance minister of her era (a guy named Paul Martin) for not finding the money to support Kyoto and concluded Mr. Chetien "didn't get environment."
..."If we'd ever received a signal from Eddie, we were ready to go. We had to get the signal and we didn't."
Mr. Anderson "can't recall" Mr. Dion taking much of a stand for or against Kyoto in Cabinet, although putting Mr. Dion in the portfolio was a "signal things would not be as aggressive" as they were under his reign.
Strange days indeed.

Maybe it’s a good thing that the Liberals, in fact, didn’t have a plan for the environment. I don’t know which I fear more:
A Liberal with no plan
Or
A Liberal that wants to plan the economy, plan trade and plan innovation.
On the latter, Dion’s speech yesterday in Ottawa sounds like he wants to take us back to the USSR and have “aggressive international trade and massive investment in innovation”, he said.
Sounds like another Liberal boondoggle for Team Canada to take their ethnic friends to China and India and pump more money into useless Technology Partnership programs .. more central planning from the Liberal elitists who have no idea how to meet a payroll.
Even scarier is how are the Conservatives going to cut the umbilical cord of decades of these Corporate welfare bum scams?

Yes, because with statistics with a margin of error of generally 4-7 percent a 2% fluctuation is significant.

Again, much ado about absolutely nothing. I live in Northumberland County. 10 years ago - have you ever bothered to look at what Harper has said 10 years ago?
Besides, it was not Dion’s portfolio. Ever occur to anyone that Dion did some study on this which caused him to move in the Kyoto direction? Na, I didn’t think so. I mean, c’mon - Harper decides there is climate change just a couple of months ago because the polls told him so - you know the “denier”.
This is truly a stretch.
