For the poll junkies in the crowd

You know, like me. Check out this satire from Linwood Barclay.

...Survey results made available to the Star approximately 15 minutes ago by the polling firm of Stiller and Meara reveal that Stephen Harper is as popular with the Canadian electorate as an itch in a hard-to-reach place, and as bad as that sounds, it may still beat Stéphane Dion, who was deemed to be as welcome as a strange-looking rash on the inside of your thigh, or even the NDP's Jack Layton, rated to be as much fun as a zit on the end of your nose.
(It is not possible to describe, in a family newspaper, the ratings for the Bloc and Green parties.)
"While this is not a strong endorsement," says a Conservative insider, "it may be enough to more forward, particularly if we target the unblemished constituency ... "

Steve M:

Linwood knows that the Star readers who will suck up this crap are as stupid as he is.

Matt:

Layton as fun as a nose zip and Dion as popular as an unsightly thigh rash? Eww…..

At least Harper is the itch I can’t reach. I can get my girlfriend to scratch it for me and then be satisfied!

Real Conservative:

Barclay is an embarrassment. There are few places in the world where somebody that is NOT funny, nor profound nor can write proficiently can find a cushy job like he has except for the RED Star newspaper. Let the liberals be confident and swarmy… it keeps showing how out of touch with reality they really are.
