Told ya

Close, achingly close, but a shoot-out win for Islanders and the nightmare scenario for the CBC unfolds...
I said at the beginning of the year that if the Leafs got NHL calibre goaltending they would make the playoffs. They almost got such tending and the almost made the playoffs. There is always next year and there is always this Blue Jays season.

Forgot the Raptors, Bro. Whipped Chicago butt today, kicked Miami a week ago, destroyed Washington in DC. Getting closer to getting to play decimated Wizards in first round - almost a bye to the second. Then Detroit. Then Dallas or Phx.

Tony:

The Leafs deserve to miss the playoffs. Everytime they had a chance to advance in the standings in the last 2 weeks of the season, they did not get it done. Especially that game against Buffalo when they were leading 4-1 in the 3rd and managed to lose that game 5-4 in regulation. I feel bad that the NY Islanders made the last playoff spot. It would have been better if the Montreal Canadians had made it.

Anyway, go Raptors!

Yup, as per your predictive post and my subsequent comment, I Did think of you in my toast to “irony”.

However, it was exciting… to the end of both games.

It was doubly dicey, too, as my turkey was still in the oven and risked drying out while I watched the overtime and the shootout.

If there’s a pony in this big pile of crap, it’s that the turkey was perfectly cooked after all.

Happy Easter.

The Islanders made the last playoff spot because of Ryan Smyth.

The world is not ending….what???? The Leafs didn’t make the playoffs….again….and the world is not ending???? Amazing. :-)

Alan:

Watching the Seantors choke is always a pleasure, whether the Leafs make it into the playoffs or not.

Alan:
