Similar to what CalgaryGrit has expressed we have this editorial from the Niagara Falls Review.
...Andy Murray, the coach of Canada's team, couldn't have put it any better.
"Shane Doan has answered the call whenever Canada has asked. He's leaving four kids to come over here. He's done enough that he probably had the right to maybe say no and he has never said no to Canada."
The only shadows being cast are the ones coming from the House of Commons.
Politicians have enough on their hands running the nation.
Leave the hockey decisions to the experts.
Shame on the politicians who tried to make this an issue, they've made themselves look even more foolish than usual.

This is especially bad because there is no evidence that Doan even said those remarks. Does this mean that every single person that gets accused, no matter if there is any evidence, cannot be on our national team? Give me a break…

At least Murray isn’t trying to appease the poiticians like Chamberlain tried to do with the Nazis.

There’s times when politicians need to be told “go to hell”… or at least “mind your own business”. This is one of those times.

CG spins it a bit questioning backbenchers and ignoring his leader’s ugly comments.
Dryden is doing the same.
