Ambivalence. With that word Nik Nanos hits the nail on the head about Dalton McGuinty.
...Of those polled, 25.8% rated his job performance as very good or good, and 21.3% saw it as poor or very poor. Forty-eight percent see his performance as "average."
Nanos said it's telling that one in four Liberals rate him as "average."
"You're not seeing negative reaction to McGuinty -- it's not as if Ontarians don't like the premier," he said. "I think the key word to describe their feelings is ambivalence."
The Liberal's support with young people and women voters, a traditional strength, is showing erosion, he said.
That sums up my feelings on Dalton McGuinty. I don't think he is a bad Premier. I don't think he is a good Premier. The best I can muster up is I think he is the Premier. And I've long thought that was enough to get him re-elected. According to the latest from SES Research I could be wrong on that one, or at least it looks like Ontario will be getting a minority government.
Liberals: 29.8%
Progressive Conservatives: 29.8%
New Democrats: 16%
Greens: 9.3%
This election could be fun for me because I don't have a dog in this hunt. As above I am ambivalent about Dalton McGuinty. Same goes for John Tory, I neither like or dislike him. To me the Liberals and the Progressive Conservatives are very similar, similarly uninspiring.

“I don’t think he is a bad Premier.”
McGuinty is the most shallow, witless clown to be at the helm of the Ontario pork and corruption machine for at least 40 years. Out of the many instances of his ignorant, vicious policies I would like to draw your attention to the Caledonia fiasco. All states stand for violent plunder, but it`s hard to think of a more blatant example of a state conniving with brigands to steal property of honest citizens.
But of course Ontario is a pretty upside-down place. I know full well that the many Ontarians consider Mike Harris to be the most ignorant and vicious premier in history. But you have to examine what these two premiers actually stand for. One stood against the brigandage, the other has no moral scruples whatsoever about plundering property as long as he can convince himself that the theft is for the greater good. Clearly, a very large percentage of Ontarians are now convinced that they themselves are too weak and helpless to ever possibly acquire and keep their own property and that the best assurance of health and prosperity is to turn their lives over to a political knob to manage for them.

No, he IS a bad premier. Anybody who breaks as many promises and he has is a bad premier. It’s just the media has never called him out on anything so he gets away with it in peoples minds.

Greg: I agree with you. About the only thing in John Tory’s favour is that he was a successful CEO of a very large corporation. If he wants to run Ontario like a successful corporation, I’m all for it
