This must make you feel pretty good if you are a New Democrat.
In the next federal election, would you consider voting for the New Democratic Party (NDP) candidate in your riding?
Definitely / Probably consider 30%
Definitely / Probably not 56%
Which of these statements comes closest to your own point of view?It is important to have NDP members of Parliament in Ottawa, whether or not they can form the government 52%
The NDP cannot form the government, so I feel my vote should go to either of the two main parties 25%

This reminds me of the old Peanuts comic where Lucy has the football and asks Charlie Brown to kick it.
And everytime he goes to kick it she pulls it away at the last second and Charlie invariably wipes out in a big pile of dust.
She keeps tricking him over and over and comes up with new reasons convincing him she won’t do it again and he keeps falling for it.
Alot of NDP members don’t even vote for their own party when election time comes around. They are so scared of the great unwashed barbarian horde at the gates that they go running to the Liberals every time.
Playing with the stats Their upper margin is 30%. Subtract those that end up voting Green. Subtract those that end up voting Liberal. Subtract those that really really wanted to vote NDP but were forced to vote Liberal to try to stave off the Conservatives.
Then you end up with the same amount the always get….

The same poll (as quoted in Susan Delacourt’s article of a couple of days ago) showed that the “Definitely / Probably consider” number for the Grren Party was 25% (only 5% less).
