Another poll has been released prior to the Ontario election and this one (from Ipsos-Reid, h/t National Newswatch) puts a smile on McGuinty's belly.
...Since June, support for the Liberals in the Greater Toronto Area moved up six points, to 44% from 38%, according to the Ipsos Reid poll conducted for CanWest News Service and Global Television. Tory support in the GTA dropped five points, to 34%, over the same period.
...The Liberals garner 47% support in the 905 region, according to the poll, a 13-point lead over their Conservative rivals. The NDP comes in with 13% support. The numbers show little fallout from a damning auditor's report released last month that prompted the resignation of Liberal cabinet minister Mike Colle.
Here are the overall numbers:
Liberals: 40%
Progressive Conservatives: 37%
New Democrats: 17%
Greens: 6%
Though I think the "still have a shot at majority" might be a tad over played.

Which means that the GTA was underrepresented. 42% of Ontarians live in the GTA, and only 37.5% were polled from there.

With the rural bias of the ridings, that’s probably right anyway…
