What are the rules anyway?

So I've noticed that a certain :"Working Families" is continuing to advertise through websites even though the writ as been dropped and the election campaign has begun. Even though I do not support bans on third-party advertising during election campaigns I expect organizations to follow the law. Is internet advertising exempt from these laws? If so, where are the National Citizens Coalitions advertisements? Or the Canadian Taxpayers Federation ads?

Some will say that I can always reject their ads but I say if they are willing to send money my way who I am to say no.

Mike in White Rock:

But, you don’t honestly believe that a Liberal government would really cut your taxes, do you?

If you do, I’m surprised.

Josh:

Well, the Liberals under Chretien and Martin did. Several times.

See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incometaxesin_Canada

Note that the Conservatives raised the lowest marginal rate from 15% to 15.5%. How charitable.

Two Cents:

What about the big signs in front of the schools in my neighbourhood (Ottawa South) announcing all the new government funding for schools? They are the same design and colors as the “Vote Dalton McGuinty” signs on the lawns on the same street.

Something stinks. That’s my tax money he’s using to confuse people with.
