Before we look at these poll numbers

we know they are wrong. The one-word reason? Quebec. Here are Harris-Decima results:

Bloc Quebecois: 31%
Liberals: 23%
Conservatives: 22%
New Democrats: 13%

We had by-elections which showed that the Conservatives are stronger than the Liberals. We had a poll which showed that the Liberals were third overall and fourth amongst francophone and what was that other thing, yeah the Quebec wing going absolutely ape-shit over the last couple of weeks. Do you think the Liberal internals agree with Harris-Decima? Me neither.

Add to this the fact it is the polling firm I trust the least, and it has the Greens at 10% you can say, Holy Smokes, they are still virtually tied!

Conservatives: 33%
Liberals: 31%
New Democrats: 16%
Greens: 10%
Bloc Quebecois: ~9%

Heh. I just cited the “Staples law of Green support in two digits” over at Far and Wide. :)

Totally agree, this poll is wonked. How can you poll during a provincial election?
