Questions 4, 5 and 7

These were the results of the federal election of 2006 in Ontario.
Liberals: 54 seats, 39.9%
Conservatives: 40 seats, 35.1%
New Democrats: 12 seats, 19.4%

At 10:15 here are tonights results from Elections Ontario
Liberals: 69 seats, 41.2%
Progressive Conservatives: 24 seats, 31.1%
New Democrats: 13 seats, 18.0%

So John Tory led PCs did not match the results by the Stephen Harper led CPCs - and Tory was supposed so moderate and Harper so scary. Yeah, that worked well!

As for the Ernie Eves comparison - the PCs won 24 seats with 34.6% support in 2003. It looks like the Tory led PCs will get about the same number of seats with less popular support. So let me restate that, John Tory will get less popular support than Ernie Eves!

All that and John Tory is getting beat in the riding he is up for..

PlaidShirt:

Hopefully, the PC’s have now finally learned that they can only win with a competent and conservative leader. Red Toryism has not been a winning strategy since Bill Davis. Red Toryism can give you a 42 year dynasty in the 20th Century. It won’t get you anywhere now.
